Hi Everyone - I hope this email finds everyone doing well over this Memorial Day weekend. We want to thank everyone deeply who has served our country or has relatives that have served; it is you who have made it possible for us to live and pursue our dreams plus pass it along to others. Update on this year so far.....the first class will end this weekend. All were great guys and we had an enjoyable time with them. BOY, they could eat too!! Good thing we have hearty food and lots of it. I have put some links below so you can see some pictures of the guys in the last class and what they were up to. Tuition $3800. If you have been thinking about taking a class, I'd try and get into that one as our prices are going up for the 2009 year. That class will have great fishing on the week long pack trip plus there is no wait time for a job once class is over. Outfitters are setting up their fall hunting camps and need help right away. As usual, call or email us with any questions, comments or concerns. Leave a phone message as we are in camp all summer, but we'll get back to you ASAP. This morning we were out doing our usual winter fun.......chasing mountain lions. Caught one too! We are training 2 young dogs along with our older dogs, so it was a great learning experience for them. Spring and summer are fast approaching. It is hard to believe that this 2008 season will be our 14th year instructing. Our May 5 week and June 4 week classes are full. So if you are thinking of attending our Guide/Packer and Camp Cook courses contact us immediately. We only take 8 people per Guide/Packer class and 2 people per Camp Cook class. This guarantees you the personal attention you deserve. 2008 Class dates open Guide/Packer: July 7 - August 2.......tuition $3800 Camp Cook: July 7 - August 2 .......tuition $2800 Camp Cook: July 7 - 19........tuition $1700 Some of you have a lot of questions and concerns and rightfully so. Hopefully I can shed some light on a few of the most common ones. 1. Can I get work right away after graduating class because gas is so expensive for me to go back home and then back out west again? A: Yes, the July class is perfect for this. Outfitters are setting up their backcountry camps to get ready for the September archery season. You will be able to put your freshly learned skills right to work. 2. What is the job placement like; I mean how likely is it for me to get a job if I come to your school? A: Glad you asked. All students that graduate the classes get job placement leads. It will be up to you to contact the outfitter and let them know you are interested in the job they offer. Our outfitter job leads are all current from this spring and summer. 3. How do I know your school is reputable and is the best around? A: Well, that is a great question but don't just take our word for it. We have been teaching students for 14 years and have the references to back it up. We'd be happy to email them to you. I doubt we'd still be such a successful school if we turned out mediocre students. The outfitters just wouldn't call us wanting to hire our students year after year. We also live this lifestyle besides teaching it to other people. That is probably why when you've called, the message machine picks up. We are out hunting every chance we get! Well, in closing, this is a lifestyle that is not for everyone; especially if you like lots of creature comforts and money. But it can be for you if you want adventure. No day is ever the same and you'll view some beautiful scenery riding on the mountain trails. It is a great way to live your life if you are young or young at heart, and have few responsibilities. You can always have a family, make more money and work a boring 9-5 job when you are older. Our philosophy is live life to the fullest and working in the wilds of the west is one way to do that. Things are really going good with classes full of great people and outfitters lined up emailing and calling to hire our graduating students. 2007 classes are just about filled and in order to secure a spot, you will need to send in an application and deposit. We only have 2 spots available in the July 9 - August 4 class. Tuition is $3800. You will not regret this opportunity to learn about guiding and packing. This is also a perfect opportunity to change to the lifestyle you've always wanted to live. Deciding on the right guide school can be a very difficult process. Here at Royal Tine, we have the reputation of turning out some of the best guides in the business. Many outfitters hiring guides and packers call us first. Why? 1. We have one of the most rigorous schedules of any guide school. Most days are a minimum of 12 hours. We cover a huge amount of material. Basically, you are going to get more "bang for your buck" here at Royal Tine. 2. We have one of the best locations ever for a guide school. We literally have elk, deer, moose, wolves, and bears come right through camp. Look closely at some of the pictures of camps at some of the other Montana guide schools. Some are set right off the highway in someone's back yard or out in the middle of the flatlands, miles from any wildlife. Our camp is set right in the middle of good game country where we can practice the skills needed to hunt Montana's big game. The camp is identical to the type of camp you will see as backcountry hunting camps. 3. Instructors at Royal Tine are truly experienced guides and packers, but more importantly, we are experienced at also teaching these skills. Just because a guide school has experienced guides on their staff, does not mean they are experienced instructors. In order to teach this business with dedication, we have to live it. We have guided and packed in Montana, Idaho, Arizona, Wyoming and Alaska. You get the benefits of this broad range of experience and our professionalism. This is our 13th year running the guide school and it continues to get better every year. We have the experience and the dedication to ensure that you get the proper training in the proper areas to maximize your time at guide school. 4. Lifetime job lead referrals are provided for those that have proven themselves in the field and is included in the price of your tuition. Unlike other schools, you will never be charged extra for additional job leads. We take care of our students, and we have a vested interest in your education. After all, it is our reputation at stake. It is not in the best interest of the hiring outfitters, the clients you guide, nor you as the guide, if we turned out mediocre students. 5. We do not require an expensive and outdated home study course as a prerequisite to our training. These home study courses are like trying to read a Japanese book before you learn the Japanese language. We believe that you should experience your "meat and potatoes" training first and then read up for additional tips and insights on information that might be relevant in the future. We do offer an optional and inexpensive set of books for those who would like to get a head start on the important stuff like elk hunting tactics and horse and mule packing. I would also encourage anyone seeking out a good guide school to call references. We will give you a complete list of students for references. Fall update and next summer's classes

Greetings from the Royal Tine Schools! We've had a fabulous summer of classes with great people. Lots of our students are enjoying working for backcountry hunting outfitters this fall as guides, packers and camp cooks. We wish them the best! So far, fall has been extremely busy for us with rifle season in Montana. Good fun! Hopefully you too have been getting out, hunting and enjoying the outdoors. Our classes for the upcoming summer are beginning to fill. If you've been thinking of doing something different and love hunting, fishing and the outdoors then consider giving one of our schools a try. Camp Cook School update

Hi everyone, for those who've requested information on our camp cook school, here's an update. First of all, we'd like to apologize and thank you for your patience. We had a computer malfunction and haven't been receiving our emails from our contact form. We really appreciate you taking an interest in what we do. I realize there was no contact information on Food Network's website or on the program itself. Wow, with that out of the way��..what did you think of the Food Network presentation?? We thought it turned out great. It was a lot of fun while the film crew and "students" were here last July. Hopefully, we've been able to put together a few options that will accommodate your wants, wishes and desires. August is the only month for the 4 day camps, as we have our long guide and cook classes all spring and summer and we outfit starting September 1st. Again, thanks a million for your interest and we hope to share our knowledge of the outdoors and cooking with you in one of our future classes. We know you'll enjoy the stunning mountains and trout filled streams of Montana as well as the fresh air. A guaranteed quality lifetime experience in 4 fun filled days. Hope to see you soon! Cook Camp Dates August 1-4.........arrive morning August 1st and depart evening 4th. This class would be a cook and nature class only (no horse rides or fishing). We'd take hikes and or drives to see the scenery and take pictures. We are finishing up our 4 week guide school and cook class with the students on the pack trip. Therefore, all our horses are spoken for. Price $600. August 10-13.........arrive morning August 10th and depart evening August 13th. This class will have fishing, horseback riding and cooking. Price $800. August 17-20.........arrive morning August 17th and depart evening August 20th. This class will have fishing, horseback riding and cooking. Price $800. Size of classes are limited to 8 people. Classes are filled on a first come first serve basis. We will be offering a similar schedule next year. Cook Camp Dates

This a follow up email to let you know of the upcoming cook camp dates that have been set because of the overwhelming response to the Food Network show on Food Camps. This is all we will be able to offer this year due to our busy guide school and outfitting schedule. August 1-4��..arrive morning August 1st and depart evening 4th. Royal Tine's Camp Cook School on Food Network

Hi Everyone, Hope the summer is treating you well so far. We are just about to wrap up the second session for the year. One more to go. So far so good, with great people. The biggest event to unfold was the birth of a foal on June 7. The students really were in awe, so we named the filly Magic. On to other events..........I am aware that most of you signed the email list from the guide school, but I am just letting you know that the camp cook school put together a short version of a class for the Food Network last summer and it will be aired July 1 and 2.
