Cowboy Coffee Cake

Cowboy Coffee Cake
2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup milk
2  eggs

Mix flour, sugar, salt and shortening until crumbly. Reserve 1/2 cup of the
mixture. To remaining crumbs- add baking powder, soda and spices. Mix
well. Add milk and eggs. Stir well and pour into a greased and floured
9x13" pan. Top with reserved crumbs. Bake @ 375F for 25 - 30 min.

Yield: 12 servings

I really like recipes like this. Ordinary common ingredients and straight forward instructions.

 I made it  a couple nights ago. Kids ate it ALL.  ;D, so it's a keeper.
