'bout the same here.  Not much interest or talking yet.  Been hot and dry.  Need some frost to kick 'em in the rut.

Hey Cody,

Archery Season here in Colorado when out with a "thud" for me.
I got on with a good outfitter about 150 miles from where I live hunting the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.

The bulls and cows were quiet and made for a hard hunt. The eariler in the morning we got up, the more bulls we'd get into. I got my hunters on a decent 5x5 and we were setup about an hour before shooting light. I really had him going as I pulled him across the ridge to us in an open park. His Harem was in a gut below us, and everytime he bugled, I cut him off and raked a tree. It made for quite a sight, He came a runnin' and obliterated this tree, I mean pine boughs scatted in a 10 ft radius around it. I had told my guys to move in when he was thrashing, but they (the hunters) froze up at 70 yds and the big critter ran off.

I had good shots for most of my hunters, and they shot over, under, or just stared at the bull.
I had one guy from OK, whose broadhead came apart mid flight, if you can believe that. A 20 yd shot and the darn arrow went end over end and landed at the 4x4's feet. Don't buy Satelite broadheads.

We got 6" snow above 10000ft for the lastweek of archery, and I hope it stays cold to bring em down a little lower.

Well, rifle season starts this Saturday the 14th, So I'm off for hopefully a more successfull adventure.

Hope Everything is going well for you and LeRee

Take care and tell LeRee I said hi.

Hi Ezra
Glad to know you are doing well. And boy, do I know what you are talking about. We had the same thing happen with one of our hunters.
Let us know who the outfitter is you worked for. We always need to keep track of the good ones............because ther are plenty of bad ones. We don't want to send any students to those.
