Dec Tip of the Month

There is NOTHING like a good hot shower after a hard day climbing up and down the mountains, escpecially during elk camp. Now you can spend $100 or more and get one of the heated showers they sell in Cabela's or you can make a really nice back country shower for about $35. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy yourself the metal 3 gallon bug sprayer. You'll also need a kitchen sink hose sprayer, a couple of metal hose clamps and a hose connector. All you have to do is cut the metal bug sprayer off of the hose, slide in the hose connector, put your two hose clamps on and then slide your kitchen sink hose onto the connector. Tighten your clamps and bingo you have a really nice pressureized camp shower. You can set the metal bug sprayer on the stove and heat it up, takes just a few minutes and you have about a 10 minute pipping hot shower. I usually hose down with the warm water, then lather up and shampoo my haird and then you have plenty of hot water to rinse off. It really makes a big difference in camp. I'll post some photos tonight of the shower.

I use a plastic 5 gal sprayer. I hest pot of water to boil, pour it in and add a pot of cold. Comes out just right. K-Mart had a two room shower tent fo $35 on sale that is better than the $120 that Cabelas sell.

I wish I would of read this tip before I bought the $110 propane unit! I'm going to have to fix up one of those weed sprayers for my next trip.
I wonder what I can store inside of the weed sprayer to use up that empty space while packing it on mule? I'm sure I will find something that I can carry in it....... Oats! Thanks machias, Good tip!
