Hey everyone, just foud this site today and was happy they let me join you.. I am a mule hand and packer, been in the business about twenty years or so. Started out in '88 up in Wyoming, learned how to pack up there during the big fires, packin in supplies to the fire camps. Since then I have spent most of my time packing or guiding, in between cowboying. Worked a lot packing and guiding elk hunters for Jack Diamond at Beaverhead Outfitters in New Mexico. And I also did a lot of mule packing at Grand Canyon. Over the years that was a pretty good gig because it was year-round and I could pretty much get hired on anytime I was needing a job. In '04 I was hired at Grand Canyon to manage the whole mule operation. I had that job until the fall of '08 and I got into a big fight with the National Park Service, ended up quitting in disgust. I well tell everyone what happened up there because it was a bad deal and we need to make sure it doesn't happen anywhere else. Since I left Grand Canyon I have just pretty much been cowboying and trying to keep from starving. I look forward to talking with all of you.

I regret now, never did carry a camera with me while I was working with the strings at the canyon. I guess with all the tourists taking pictures I musta figured that there would be plenty of record for posterity. The guy who is head packer there is a friend of mine, hell I hired him! Maybe I can get him to forward some pics to me.
My dad always told me to pack a camera, he said it was something he regretted, not getting pictures of places he rode into and stuff he did. I get it now....
