Hello I am currently living in Kansas I am 15, my name is James and I have been hunting since I was two. I go hunting for: Turkey, Pheasant, Quail, Coyote, Bobcat, Whitetail Deer, Greater and lesser Canadian Geese and Duck. I am looking forward to go black bear hunting this spring and elk hunting in a few years although I live in Kansas I am not a farm boy and I want hunting to be my life so I have decided I want to be a guide in Wyoming I found the Royal Tine school and am raising the money to go to the school right now. When I am 18 the first class I will be coming to here and yea so what's up everyone?

Welcome to the Camp Fire James. I wish I knew about Packing and Guiding when I was 15, I'm 41 and wish I could live the dream.

I can' t speek from experience , but GET IN SHAPE and stay in shape. Also study as much as you can about western hunting. KILLERBEE and BEAU will be better to answer this question than me. I have heard them say alot about being in shape. In the past six months I have lost a ton of weight and working out . This hepled me alot with hunting. Just the other day my brother and I hiked a bunch of miles in the woods stalking a nice buck , he was worn out and I still had energey left. I still have a long way to go but it does make a big differece. Hopefully one of them will give you a little more info than me .

welcome to the campfire!
fly cracker hit it best, GET IN SHAPE! you'll be learning so much when you get there, make sure you take in as much as possible. i went to royaltine when i was 18 and think it was one of the greatest times of my life. i think cody has a list of some books you can get and read. also start learning to tie knots.
also while you getting ready, if you have any questions, post em up. your sure to get the answers your looking for. there alot of guys/[and girls] here that are glad to help

Welcome! Glad to see you are planning ahead.
There are many knowledgable people here willing to answer questions. You can learn quite a bit between now and when you attend Royal Tine.
