I've hunted and fished out of wall tents my entire life. We always just cut poles in the woods for the frame.

I just finished buying an angle kit and built an internal frame for my wall tent using 1" EMT.

My problem is keeping the wall legs from punching holes in my sod cloth. I put a small piece of flashing under each leg but it took me a long time to get all the legs where I wanted them and they kept sliding off the flashing onto the sod cloth.

I thought about using Tuna fish cans but I have 8 wall legs and I don't eat that much Tuna fish in a year.

Any suggestions?

a buddy of mine had the same problem, we ended up jaut adding a "T" at the bottom of the legs, then added a couple 6" pieces of pipe to the "T"  to spread the weight out, it seemed to work pretty decent

you could also just connect all the bottoms of the legs using the  same "T" with pipes the same length  as the leg spacing.

Just get some of those rubber feet they sell at the hardware store for canes and chair legs.

I never seem to find a perfectly flat area to put my tent, so I'm thinking running angles and poles along the ground wouldn't work very well.

I went to the hardware store yesterday and found these smooth metal caps that snap into the inside of the pole/leg. They were pretty cheap and I'm guessing if the ground is dirt under the leg it will be fine. I'll have the tent set up for a week and camping the end of this month and see how that works. If I end up patching the sod cloth, I'll try something else.

The rubber feet for canes is a good idea. I'll take a look the next time I'm at the hardware store.

Thanks for the suggestions.
