Cookin' grouse in camp.........

Well, first off, it is always a big hit and a good appetizer. There are a couple of ways to cook it, but the preparation is the same.
Debreast the bird, then soak the meat in cold salt water for no less than 1 hour. Remove and dice into chunks.

#1 choice..........cut into 1/2 inch chunks and cook the meat in butter over medium heat, stirring contstantly.

#2 choice AKA Grouse Poppers..........cut into 3/4 inch chunks, take a slice of bacon cut in half and wrap one of the bacon pieces around the grouse meat. Skewer with a toothpick. Place in skillet and fry over medium heat, watching so that nothing burns. Repeat until no grouse meat is left.

ENJOY!!!

**** my mouth's waterin' already. ...there's NOTHING link fresh grouse. ....for me a fresh grouse meal usually means i'm on riding the Yellow Streak  (my bike in my pic) and see a grouse in which case the process is.

kill it
strip it
build a fire - tilt my bike over and dump a little gas outta my tank onto some branches
get a stick and rost it like a hot dog

yum yum ....and if the bird just happened to eat a meal of fresh berries before you find it, ...well hell you've got fresh stuffing to go with it!  Cheesy
