I need a new rest for my bow.  I am looking at the whisker biscuit or a  Trophy Taker drop down rest.  Anybody of any experince with either?

I use the nap drop away 4000. have a buddy that shots a trophy taker, he likes it. but in the grand scheme of the thing drop aways are the way to go. Just look at the groove the arrow rests in and make sure it cant move left to right at all. the arrow must be held tight in the groove.

I also use the trophy taker with great success - the whisper biscuit I was told makes too much noise for whitetail hunting - especially if you hunting in cold climates.

I would agree that not all drop aways were created equal, but they are the way to go. The comment about ensuring that your arrow fits nicely into the groove on the rest is one of the most important points here. Also, you can see the advantage of a drop away over a whisper biscuit in that as soon as you loose and arrow it is no longer in contact with the bow. This allows for better shot accuracy as you are less likely to disturbed the flight of the arrow by moving your brace hand after you have released the arrow. With a whisper biscuit you are required to hold perfectly still until the nock has passed through the rest itselfor the flight of the arrow will be affected by your brace hand movements.

I would go with the whisker biscut. it always keeps your arrow where it needs to be.  when stalking, no need to hold your finger over the top of the arrow! granted there's better rests that are built for speed, I think the biscut is a good hunting rest. just my 2 cents Smiley

Whisker Bisciut- hands down. The Original was a little loud and hard to micro-tune but the newer models are great. Awesome for stalking!!

i'm a fall a way rest guy, i went with the drop zone, so it drops strait down instead of forward, so far i love it but haven't hunted with it yet. i have usaed the trophy taker fall away for a few yrs and liked it. just never been interested in the W-B

I have to agree with Killerbee, i am a fall away rest hunter.  I use the Ripcord made here in the great state of MT, by a friend of mine.  the reason i use fall away is that i just have a hard time believing that anything should be touching the arrow after it leaves my string.  And to be totally honest, i have never used a wisker biscuit and therefore i really dont know if there is any noticalbe difference.  I have never had problems with my arrow falling off while stalking so i havnt needed to think about other rests.

I would have to say that the fall aways are probably a little more accurate, but when it comes down to the heat of the moment at 20 yards with a slobbering screaming bull stareing you down I would put my money on a Whisker buscuit! One fall off the rest on a Bull of  lifetime is not worth that extra 1 inch tighter grouping of arrows on the range.

My 2 cents anyway

I was going to get a ripcord, but then the bow shop guy talked me into a hostage. it is like a whisker biscuit. i think it will be fine.

The two reasons I like the Hostage, 1.  it is so simple  2.  It is just like the Whisker Biscuit but does not touch the vanes.
