Howdy from Minnesota
« on: December 24, 2013, 10:28:33 AM »
Stumbled across this site the other day and looks like a good place to spend some time & trade some info.   Really enjoy DIY pack-in trips, mainly to the Bob Marshall Wilderness but also packed-in around Durango & the Big Horns.  Wife & I own 3 quarter horses & a mule, just enough to travel with and spend time in the wilderness.  This year we did a 10 day pack-in into the Bob Marshall and then camped & rode into and just North of Yellowstone National Park.  Also experienced a DIY backcountry canoe trip into the BWCA and spend plenty of time fishing here in Minnesota.  Looking forward to reading your posts, Henry

Welcome.

Where in The Bob did you go?

I spent several weeks during the summer and over a month in the fall in the Scapegoat.

We went in at the west fork of the Teton trailhead west of Choteau.  This trip we covered 77 miles up to the Trilobite Lakes and back with several day rides from base camps.   Beautiful ride!

Real good pictures, thanks.  Wife does dutch oven cooking too, but cast iron is too heavy for our pack trips so it's mostly done at campgrounds & at home ;)
