![]() DAY 8 - Monday, June 9 Wrangled early, breakfast, then classroom again at 7:00. Spent about an hour learning 10 basic knots and hitches. Just hope I can remember them and their applications. Cody says every knot we miss on tonight's quiz, we have to tie it correctly 20 times in a row before we're done for the night. About mid-morning, we started shoeing (Again!). We were all sore this morning, but it went pretty well. Most of us got our requirement done by the end of the day. (Every student must shoe at least one horse and one mule. Any that didn't finish today have to make it up later.) We even had a little educational entertainment watching the instructors use restraints on some of the wild ones. The fishing is staying consistently good around here too. During lunch hour one of the students ran up to a nearby reservoir and landed a pretty good-sized trout.
